Heather is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who earned their master’s degree in counseling psychology with a concentration in health psychology from The Chicago School. They are passionate about helping people build insight, self-compassion, and resilience while navigating the complexities of identity, relationships, and emotional well-being.

As a white, queer, non-binary individual living with chronic illness, Heather was shaped by their own experiences growing up feeling like they were the odd one out. They internalized what they were taught about themself and understand what it means to question identity and emotions. They also understand going through a period of self-realization, knowing how hard it is to ask for help and trusting outside of oneself. These experiences help shape Heather’s affirming and relational approach to therapy, grounded in empathy, authenticity, and connection.

They work with LGBTQIA+ individuals and others facing complex challenges, including life transitions, anxiety, trauma, and identity exploration. They strive to empower and support holistic growth, encouraging each person to define what well-being means for them.

Heather uses a collaborative and integrated approach, believing each person is the expert of their own lived experiences. They utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, harm reduction, strengths based, trauma informed, and affirming practices. Their aim is to honor each individual’s unique strengths and needs.

In addition to counseling, Heather loves being outside in nature but appreciates the indoor comforts of modern society. They enjoy traveling the world with their spouse, snuggling with their rescue pup, reading and writing fiction novels, hanging out at home, and watching TV.
